About The Garage Community and Youth Center

For the past nineteen years, The Garage Community and Youth Center has been a cornerstone in our community - providing resources and sense of belonging to area youth who are in need. Through tutoring, mentoring, computer lab access, recreation and leadership programs, 500 of our community’s most “at-risk” middle and high school students are finding the necessary support to reach their full potential each year.

What is #EmpowertoExplore?

Throughout the summer, The Garage students discover new experiences vocationally, academically, relationally and recreationally. They gain real-life work experience through our internship program, visit multiple college campuses, participate in community service opportunities where they are challenged to expand their perspective—all while providing nutrition and transportation.

Because of the home lives of our students, they often have responsibilities far beyond their peers, so summer is also a time for our “kids to be kids.” The opportunity for our students to laugh, have fun, and try new adventures is just as essential to their personal development. We invite you to partner with us this summer to Empower Youth to Explore New Experiences

Join us for Youth Give Back Day

Garage students must “earn” the opportunities to participate in many of our summer programs through an incentive program that awards points for completing homework, participation in enrichment activities, or community service. On Saturday, April 25, 2020, The Garage will be hosting our 5th Annual Youth Give Back Day-- a day of service for Garage Youth to give back to the local community through volunteer service at over 15 different local charities. These will be the young men and women who earn some of the most elite summer programs, such as a paid summer internship or trip to an amusement park. We invite you to volunteer alongside our students for Youth Give Back Day.

Please contact aaron.smith@garageyouthcenter.org to learn about opportunities to volunteer alongside our students from 8:30am-2pm on Youth Give Back Day!
